We are looking to appoint a post-doctoral fellow with expertise in soil  microbial ecology for 12 to 18 months at the INRAE in the Agroecology Department in Dijon. The post is part of a 3-year Biodiversa funded project entitled “Microservices: Predicting climate change impacts on the crop microbiome and cascading effects on ecosystem services delivery in agroecosystems”.(https://microservices.ethz.ch/). The vision of MICROSERVICES is to understand and predict the impact of climate change on the crop-associated microbiome and its ecosystem functions in European wheat cropping systems. The post-doctoral fellow will investigate the soil and wheat-root microbiomes across climate regions and under drought using rain-out shelters installed in an agricultural field experiment.

Qualifications. The applicant should hold a PhD degree in Microbial ecology. The applicant must have documented knowledge in molecular community analysis, bioinformatics and biostatistics, microbial ecology. Solid laboratory skills in molecular biology, a good publication record in international well-recognized journals and excellent communication skills in English are also a requirement. We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible, open-minded, and team-oriented candidate, who has shown good abilities for independent scientific work. A postdoctoral position is a qualifying appointment for junior researchers, intended primarily for those who have obtained a doctorate degree within the past five years.
